OUT FROM UNDER THE BED
Date: 9th May - 9th June
by Megan Ellis @meganellis.embroidery
Megan is a local hand embroidery and textile artist, who graduated from the Royal School of
Needlework in 2024.
Both traditional and experimental hand embroidery techniques and stitches are used to translate
ideas and drawings into hand embroidery and textile pieces. A key component of her work is
vibrant colours and a mixture of different textures.
Her overall practice is lead by what her brings her joy. This enables experimentation and allows
the work to move into new themes and processes. Work that is more meaningful to the artist is
work that encourages emotion, which is something she aims to encourage through her own.
The work on show today explores area’s of her everyday life and specific interests, such as
eyes and animals.
